Academy Award-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg has taken on a new role advertising incontinence pads in a series of promotional campaigns she mostly wrote, it has been reported.

The 55-year-old is seen playing a number of historical, fictional and inanimate figures from the past including Eve, the Mona Lisa, Joan of Arc, the Statue Of Liberty and Cleopatra.

She says in the One In Three Like Me advertisements: "I have a little secret, I leak. Just a little spritzer. One in three women have this issue, it's like a big secret but we are all walking around with wet pants."

It is believed that Goldberg, who finds a light-hearted way of dealing with a serious issue, decided to do the incontinence products campaign in a bid to raise awareness and tackle stigma rather than earn some money, given her successful career.

Goldberg, who starred in The Color Purple and Sister Act, has previously admitted on her popular day time talk show that she suffers from the condition herself.
