The Different Types of Ladies Incontinence Pants

The type of incontinence pants you should choose depends on your level of incontinence, comfort preference and spending budget. There are a few different types of incontinence pants but your preference will help you decide – you know your own body.

Pull Up Pants

Ideal for: Women with light to severe incontinence who prefer the feel of pants to a pad

Many women who look for products which are discreet and feel unnoticeable choose to wear pull up pants. These pants allow you to feel like you are wearing everyday underwear, but with the added protection that is needed for leaks. This provides you with both confidence and peace of mind. Pull up pants are designed for moderate to severe incontinence, and come in a range of sizes and absorbencies. These are suitable for women experiencing both urinary and faecal incontinence and feature an elasticated waist and legs which hold the products in place just like your normal underwear. The pants are flexible and simple to get out of, ensuring dealing with incontinence is a straightforward and hassle-free process.

Washable Pants

Ideal for: Very light to light incontinence, ideal for women looking for a more cost-effective option. The waterproof pants are also suited for women who feel that their pad is not staying in place or need slightly more protection.

Women’s washable pants are designed for light incontinence or to provide extra protection. They have a pad inside which absorbs any moisture, but washable pants can still make you feel very feminine and comfortable if you have a light flow. A downfall for washable pants however, is that they are not only not suitable for moderate to heavy incontinence, but they also aren’t suitable for incontinence. Despite this, washable pants are preferred by many, as they are both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

Types of Washable Incontinence Pants

Absorbent Incontinence Pants

Absorbent knickers can be worn on their own, providing reliable absorbency for light leaks. These pants are available in various colours and styles, but most commonly white and black. Absorbent washable knickers are very common amongst women with stress incontinence.

Protective Pants

These products are designed to be worn over the top of disposable products to provide additional protection. Buying these can be cost-effective, preventing the need to buy a new, expensive products. You can find protective pants designed from cotton or a plastic material.

Pouch Pants and Mesh Pants

Women’s pouch pant knickers are designed to keep insert pads securely in place. Pouch pants incorporate an inside pouch to hold incontinence pads. Like the other designs of incontinence knickers, they feel just like normal underwear. Mesh pants are basic fixation pants that you simply wear on top of an incontinence pad. You can choose between fixation pants with short legs or long legs, depending on which design is comfortable for you.
